Immigrants will limit Dutch labour shortage

The forecast shortage of workers in the Netherlands in 2050 as a result of its aging population will be counteracted for 80% by immigration, according to a pan-European survey by SEO for temp agency Randstad.

The SEO report says the Netherlands will have a personnel shortage of 274,000 which is considerably less than countries such as Germany and Italy, reports today’s Volkskrant. The research shows that the EU as a whole faces a shortage of almost 32 million workers by 2050.
