ChristenUnie leader the most trusted
André Rouvoet, leader of the orthodox Christian party ChristenUnie, has emerged as the most trustworthy minister in the new cabinet in a poll of 22,000 people for TV show EénVandaag. Some 52% said they had a lot of faith in the new minister for youth and family affairs.
Christian Democrat (CDA) justice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin was second, with a score of 48%. In third place was the other ChristenUnie minister Eimert van Middelkoop (42%), responsible for the defence department.
The highest placed Labour (PvdA) minister was Ronald Plasterk, a newspaper columnist and academic who now heads the education ministry. He came just below Middelkoop in the poll.
