Bolivian president meets Shell boss

Bolivian president Evo Morales, in the Netherlands for an official visit, met Shell CEO Jeroen van de Veer today to try and persuade him to invest in his country despite the nationalisation of its oil and gas industry.

Bolivia ‘needs partners, not owners’ to help exploit the country’s vast natural gas reserves, Morales was quoted as saying in the International Herald Tribune.
The president also met foreign minister Ben Bot. The two discussed how the Netherlands could help Bolivia exploit its gas reserves and improve its flood defences.
