Union wants more teaching days
Friday 13 February 2009
Teaching union Aob wants secondary schools to stop wasting valuable teaching time with meetings and training courses and boost the number of days spent in the classroom from 180 to 190 a year, according to several media reports on Friday.
Up to three weeks are spent on meetings at the beginning and the end of the school year, the union says.
But shortening the long summer break, as proposed earlier by the education ministry, remains still non-negotiable, it says.
