Wednesday 12 March 2008

The Netherlands will add another €1.8m to the €17.5m is has already donated for finding and identifying genocide victims in the former Yugoslavian town of Srebrenica, aid minister Bert Koenders said on Tuesday.

Koenders made the announcement after receiving the first copy of a book in which historian Selma Leydesdorff recounts the personal stories of women from the Bosnian Muslim enclave which was take over by Bosnian Serbs in 1995 while Dutch UN troops looked on.

Koenders said he agrees that it is of enormous importance that the remains of the almost 7,800 missing men and boys are found and given proper burials.
