Wednesday 22 August 2007
Over 90% of local councils have problems with rain water according to a survey by the Rioned Foundation which represents the country's sewage authorities. Most of the problems involve flooding of roads and buildings.
Of the 203 local councils surveyed, 90% have plans to solve their problems and 70% have already taken steps to cope with increasing rainfall, concludes Rioned. Solutions include lower roads, creating pavements and diverting rain to parks and other green areas.
