Warmest January on record

January 2007 has been the mildest January since records began in 1706, weather bureau KNMI said on Wednesday. The average temperature this month has been 7.1 degrees, almost a full degree higher than the previous record of 6.2 degrees. On 18 January, the temperature reached 14.9 degrees in Westdorpe in Zeeland.
