Post groups in court over letters

Post groups TPG and Sandd faced each other in court today in a row that centres over the definition of a letter. TPG still has a monopoly on letters weighing under 50 grammes and claims that Sandd is getting round the law by delivering letters from mail order company Otto alongside a catalogue.

‘A letter is still a letter, whether or not it is delivered with a catalogue,’ TPG’s lawyer told the court. Sandd denies it is being sneaky and says Otto has combined the letter and catalogue into a single delivery to sell more products. The court is expected to rule later this month.
