Netherlands Chamber Choir

Guitar player Matthias Kadar compositions combine 20th century chansons with lieder from earlier centuries. Together with the choir, he sings a selection of his own songs and arrangements of songs by composers such as Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg and Franz Schubert. The lyrics are in German, French, Hungarian and Dutch.

Residentie Orchestra

Truls Mork is the soloist for Schumann's cello concerto. Also on the programme are works by Beethoven and Strauss. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts.

Dr Anton Philipszaal, The Hague, February 10 and 12 (matinee).

Pianist Dejan Lazic has orchestrated Brahms' violin concerto nr 3 for piano and orchestra and plays it during this concert. Conductor Andrew Grams also leads the orchestra in Mahler's symphony nr 1.

Rotterdam Philharmonic

Sibelius' symphony nr 2, Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and Strauss' Tod und Verklärung conducted by Robin Ticciati. The soloist is the mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager.

Conductor Robin Ticciati and violinist Christian Tetzlaff, both young and highly-praised, appear together to perform Beethoven's violin concerto. Also on the programme are works by Ligeti and Haydn.

Jaap van Zweden conducts Mahler's fifth symphony and Wagner's overture to Lohengrin.
