Bookshops in Amsterdam, Maastricht in top 20 'most beautiful' list The American Book Center in Amstedam and Selexyz in Maastricht are included in a listing of the 20 most beautiful book shops in the world by US cultural website Flavorwire.com. The American Book Centre is described on the site as a ‘beautifully designed space with surprising shapes, cleverly constructed nooks and crannies and even a tree or two.’ The Selexyz outlet is a ‘gorgeous converted Dominican church’ that ‘gives the power of reading its due diligence’. What a surprise as here in the US; bookstores are becoming obsolete in many areas since e-readers came on the market. Libraries are also limited in reference books these days. Really miss those bookstores.
