Nigel de Jong, Gregory van der Wiel recalled for Oranje

Coach Louis van Gaal has included Nigel de Jong and Gregory van der Wiel in his squad for the final two World Cup qualifying matches against Hungary and Turkey.

But Van Gaal has sidelined keeper Kenneth Vermeer after Ajax’s thrashing last weekend by PSV. Feyenoord defender Joris Mathijsen has also been dropped.

 

Oranje, who have already qualified for the World Cup, take on Hungary in the Amsterdam Arena on October 11 followed by Turkey in Istanbul five days later.
