Photo: Funda The town of Blaricum near Hilversum has the most expensive homes in the country, with an average house price of €761,000, according to research by website Woningmarktcijfers.nl. Nevertheless, Blaricum has not escaped the malaise on the housing market, with the average price down 1.8% on a year ago. In addition, 21% fewer houses changed hands last year. Nearby Laren rose from fourth to second place with an average price of just over €600,000. Waasenaar is third. Bloemendaal, on the coast west of Amsterdam fell from second to fourth place as the average house price plummeted 21%. Cheap Last year, 500 homes with a price tag of more than €1m changed hands, down 29% on 2011. The cheapest homes in the country are in Kerkrade, Limburg, where house prices averaged €136,000 last year.
