Amsterdam concerned about organised pub crawls

Police and councillors in Amsterdam are worried that youngsters and tourists are getting drunk cheaply and quickly on organised pub crawls.

For between €10 and €15, a 'strippenkaart' can be bought giving access to free shots of vodka in the cafes involved in the scheme. Buyers also receive drinks during the walk from one cafe to another, reports the Telegraaf.

The pub crawls are increasing the number of legless youngsters on the streets, leading to a rise in the amount of urine deposited on pavements and front steps and the number of people hospitalised. Last year 420 ambulances in the city were needed just to pick up drunken revellers.
