The couple had arrived in the town of Conversano two days ago for a holiday. They run an Italian restaurant in the Frisian town of Woudsend, the Telegraaf reported.
Two buildings in the historic town centre collapsed in the blast, injuring at least 10 other people. One of the buildings was empty, the other used mainly by tourists, local media said.
