Campaigning prince embarrassed at toilet throwing contest

Crown prince Willem-Alexander is embarrassed about the way he joined in a toilet throwing contest during this year’s Queen’s Day celebrations in Rhenen.

The prince told a a meeting on sustainability in Rotterdam on Wednesday it was difficult to square the contest with the fact so many people do not have access to proper toilet facilities.
‘I joined in on April 30 for a laugh but not without thinking with some embarrassment about the 2.6 billion people on earth who do not have the most basic structures to perform their daily needs in a decent way,’ the prince is quoted as saying.
Willem-Alexander is chairman of the UN secretary general’s advisory board on water and sanitation.
