Four killed in car crash

Three children and a 40-year-old man were killed in a car crash on the A53 near Almelo on Sunday evening, the AD reports.

Two brothers aged seven and eight and an eight-year-old girl and her father died in a collision between two cars.

Three other people are seriously ill in hospital. The cars ended up in ice-cold water after the crash, the AD said.

I wish they would tell us if these people were properly restrained with seat belts or booster seats. My son is almost 9 and is still in a booster that would be life saving in a crash... car seats are barely used in this country for infants much less older children, it's a shame.

There seem to be no rules here regarding seatbelts or indicating to change lanes.

I couple of years ago I witnessed a Dutch woman tell her 3 year old child that she didn´t need to do the seatbelt up on his child seat because they were only going 10 minutes down the road - shocking
