LinkedIn launches in Dutch

Friday 27 January 2012

Business networking website LinkedIn launched a Dutch language version on Friday, which the company hopes 'will make it easier for three million Dutch professionals to communicate with each other'.

'The Netherlands is the most active European country on LinkedIn, with the highest penetration,' marketing director Lot Keijzer told news agency ANP.

The social media site already operates in at least 13 different languages, including Russian, Swedish and Japanese.

I hope this doesn't mean we lose our choice of language. I have enough problems with Google refusing to save my changes...

if it's the most active country, why the need for a Dutch based version? Wouldn't this create Dutch only profiles, inaccessible for the rest of the world?
