Internet broker BinckBank sees profits almost halved

Internet broker BinckBank booked net profit of €5.9m in the fourth quarter of 2011, down 43% on the year-earlier period.

'The results were strongly influenced by the European debt crisis, which created a lot of uncertainty and unease among investors,' chairman Koen Beentjes said in a statement.

Over the full year, net profit was down 20% on 2010.
