Ajax meets Manchester United in Europa League

Amsterdam football club Ajax will meet England’s Manchester United for the first time since 1976 in the first knock-out round of the Europa League.

Both teams were eliminated from the Champions League competition and will first meet in Amsterdam.
Dutch premier division leader AZ of Alkmaar will take on Anderlecht of Belgium, who won all their group phase matches. Again, the first tie will be at home for the Dutch team.
FC Twente will meet Steaua Bucharest in Romania. PSV Eindhoven will also start out away from home in their two ties against Trabzonspor. The Turkish side was also demoted from the Champions League competition.
The matches will all take place on February 16 and 23.
