Hema tops essential Dutch brands list

Household goods high street chain Hema is the most unmissable brand in the Netherlands, according to new research by Eurib, the European institute for brand management.

In total 75% of the Netherlands’ top 100 are native Dutch brands, Eurib says. These include Unox (soup and sausages), Calve (peanut butter and sauces), Grolsch (beer) and Douwe Egberts (coffee). Swedish furniture chain group Ikea is the top foreign brand on the list, in 5th place.
Ironically, the new entry at number 20 on the list is the post office, which has now disappeared from the Netherlands.
Apple, iPhone, iTunes, Twitter and Facebook are not on the top 100 list, the Telegraaf points out.
