ProRail boss rejects bonus, complaints mount

The head of the Dutch railway network told BNR radio on Friday he would not accept any bonus offered by ProRail’s supervisory board.

Bert Klerk said it would not be appropriate to accept a bonus considering the problems on the railways this year.
So far some 16,500 people have made a claim against the NS following the fire in the track management centre in Utrecht in November which knocked out much of the region’s train traffic.
A spokesman expects the final figure to increase to around 25,000. The claims range from a few euros to large taxi bills, the spokesman said.
