Eric Lucassen back in spotlight, is he claiming social security?

PVV parliamentarian Eric Lucassen not only lied about his criminal record but also is being chased by bailiffs and is still receiving social security benefits, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

The paper says debt-collection agencies have been after the MP for the past seven years and he is described as a ‘large credit risk’.
The paper, which does not say how it obtained the information, says Lucassen was visited by two agencies two weeks ago demanding up to €25,000.
Social security
In addition, the state benefit payment agency UWV wrote to him two weeks ago asking him to let them know about any changes in his personal situation because this could affect his benefits.
Lucassen told the paper he was not receiving any social security benefits and described the request as a misunderstanding.
Earlier this month it emerged the former army officer had a criminal record for having an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate while a military trainer and that he had two convictions for anti-social behaviour.
Party leader Geert Wilders eventually decided he could stay an MP.
