One in four mayors victims of verbal abuse

Almost half of the Netherlands' 400 plus mayors have been victims of aggression, most commonly verbal abuse, according to research by the home affairs ministry.
Some 41% of the 309 mayors who took part in the research said they had been subject to verbal attacks, while 29% had been directly threatened or intimidated.
