Ministers plan own child abuse inquiry

Add as a favourite source on Google Add DutchNews as a favourite source on GoogleJustice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin and family minister André Rouvoet are setting up their own inquiry into the possible abuse of children placed in government institutions, news agency ANP reports.
The inquiry will run parallel to the investigation into sexual abuse of minors at Catholic boarding schools and seminaries from the 1950s onwards.
The ministers’ investigation will focus on what happened to any reports of abuse made to child protection authorities.
