Ice fever begins already in the papers

Monday 14 December 2009

After just one night of frost, both the Telegraaf and AD newspapers have told their readers it is time to get their skates ready for some skating on natural ice.

The Telegraaf says the frosty weather is set to continue all week, with light frosts at night and snow possible on Wednesday.

But in some places, the temperature is set to dip as low as -10 Celsius, which will allow the ice to grow more quickly, the paper says.

However, a southwesterly front at the weekend means temperatures could warm up. And the KNMI weather bureau is refusing to forecast the chances of a white Christmas, the paper says.
