The Dutch women's football team lost their European cup semi-final against England 2-1 in Finland on Sunday night.
The winning goal came towards the end of extra time.
'We have done fantastically in this tournament, and it is no scandal to lose to England in the semis,' coach Vera Pauw told the AD. 'I am incredibly proud of the girls, and we worked really hard for it.'
This was the first time the women's team, known as the lionesses, had qualified for the final rounds of an international competition, the AD said.
