Morten Olsen is bookies' favourite for Ajax

Denmark's Morten Olsen is the bookmakers' favourite to take over as trainer at Amsterdam football club Ajax, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

Betting office Unibet has described Olsen as the 'dream candidate' to take over from Marco vanBasten but has closed betting on the trainer of the Danish national squad.

Meanwhile, Trouw reports that the Danish football association would not be happy if Olsen suggested combining the Ajax job with the Danish team.

And the association's secretary Jim Stjerne Hansen told the paper it was not negotiating with Ajax.

Ajax said last week it had made overtures to Olsen as one of a number of candidates.
