Departing SNS boss says qualified sorry
Wednesday 15 April 2009
The departing CEO of SNS Reaal said on Wednesday that he regrets the problems which the financial services group has run into over the past year.
'We feel really sick about it,' Sjoerd van Keulen said at a shareholders meeting in Utrecht. But Van Keulen said he would not apologise for doing something wrong.
'What I am saying is that we should have been more careful,' the Financieele Dagblad quoted Van Keulen as saying.
SNS Reaal lost €730m over the second half of last year and got a capital injection from the state of €750m.
The company expects to book a 'limited loss' in the first three months of this year.
