Customs officers seize 82 turtles

Customers officers at Schiphol airport have seized 82 leopard tortoises, a protected species, news agency ANP reports.

The animals had been sewn into a linen sack. They had been transported from Tanzania and were destined for Hong Kong, officials said. Many were in a poor state and are now being cared for by vets.
