Ajax beaten but not out of UEFA Cup

Ajax lost 2-1 to Olympique Marseille in Thursday night's UEFA Cup competition.
Nevertheless, the Amsterdam club still has a reasonable chance of securing a place in the quarter final when they meet the French team in the home leg next Wednesday.
Despite playing half the game with 10 men - midfielder Gregory van der Wiel was sent off with a red card after a second foul - Ajax limited Olympique Marseille’s lead to just one goal.
