Loneliness doubled in five years
Tuesday 07 October 2008
One in 10 people often feel lonely and unhappy, twice as many as five years ago, according to a Salvation Army survey.
The percentage of those who are content with their lives has dropped to 83% compared with 92% in 2003, says the survey.
Some 23% believe there is no real poverty in the Netherlands compared to 41% five years ago. And fewer people think that vulnerable groups are responsible for their own problems.
