Doctors oppose EU pharmaceutical plans

Plans by the European Commission to give pharmaceutical companies a greater role in regulating medicine safety and allowing them to get in touch directly with patients will increase the risk to patients, say Dutch doctors’ organisations.


‘The only player in the market to benefit from this are drugs producers,’ said Ruud Coolen van Brakel, head of the government’s medicine monitoring agency, in today’s Trouw.
