Integration is key, says Labour leader Bos

Monday 16 June 2008

Labour party leader Wouter Bos told delegates to the party congress on Saturday that integrating newcomers into Dutch society will be his priority, according to press reports.

'It is the key to winning back the hearts of the people,' he said.

Bos said that the building of mosques, training imams and Muslims working in the caring professions must be accepted. But he added that the Labour party will not tolerate those who discriminate against or denigrate immigrants, homosexuals or women.

Intimidation, threats, lots of abuse, racism, accosted, assaulted, have had my 'wheelchair-car' damaged, and I've nearly been killed and I'm only living here 11 months ... for not having a Dutch Passpoort, and not speaking Dutch ...and ... because I was Injured in a Road Traffic Accident, made seriously Ill by UK medics, and now a Disabled 'Inconvenience' living in Holland, on the advice of 5 good (rare) Doctors in the UK, inc one Dutchman!
