Victim's parents lose compensation bid
Wednesday 21 May 2008
The parents of a man jailed for murdering a 25-year-old woman six years ago do not have to pay the parents of the victim compensation, an Arnhem court ruled on Wednesday.
The victim's family made the claim because the parents of the killer gave him money to escape and lied to the police about their son's whereabouts.
The court said that protecting a child from potential legal action was not a criminal offence.
