Trafigura pays more for Ivory Coast clean-up

Amstelveen-based oil firm Trafigura is to give Ivory Coast an additional €7.6m to pay for the clean-up of polluted sludge dumped in the country in 2006, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Thursday.
The company, which denies liability for 16 deaths associated with the poisonous waste, has already paid €152m for the clean-up operation.
The company, Amsterdam city council and a Dutch waste disposal company face legal action over the way Trafigura's ship Probo Koala was able to leave the Dutch capital with its consignment of toxic waste.
