Ajax miss chance to close gap with PSV

Ajax of Amsterdam failed to reduce the gap with league leaders PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, losing their away game to Roda JC of Kerkrade 2-1.
PSV had only managed to draw their game with SC Heerenveen on Saturday 1-1.
PSV have now a nine point lead with 10 games to go. Ajax's defeat means they dropped from second to third spot. SC Heerenveen are now second, having a better goal average than Ajax.
There are four teams now in contention for the second spot, all with 44 points. Feyenoord of Rotterdam are fourth, after beating De Graafschap of Doetinchem soundly 3-1. In fifth position is NAC Breda.
