Muslim theologist Tariq Ramadan has turned down the post of professor of Islam at Leiden University after the appointment was leaked prematurely to the press.

Ramadan, described by critics as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, says he had not had enough time to make a decision. He and his family are currently based in the UK.
