Youths arrested for school stabbing
Thursday 25 October 2007
Amsterdam police arrested two 15-year-old boys on Wednesday evening in connection with the stabbing of a schoolboy in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost earlier in the day.
It is the third such incident in the Netherlands in the past two weeks.
The schoolboy, who is also 15, is in intensive care in hospital but his life is not in danger, police said.
The boys were arrested at their homes and a knife believed to have been used in the attack was also found.
On October 11 a 16-year-old boy died after being stabbed by a 14-year-old pupil at outside his school in Amsterdam West. A day later another schoolboy and the deputy headmistress of a school in Rotterdam were injured in a similar attack.
