Aegon signs as new Ajax sponsor

Insurance group Aegon is to be the new main sponsor of Amsterdam football club Ajax, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday. The paper says Aegon is investing between €10m and €12m in the club. The contract will run for seven years.
Ajax' current main sponsor is ABN Amro. That contract is due to end in 2011. According to ANP more details on the new sponsorship deal may be announced at tonight's members meeting.
Aegon has sponsored the national skating association KNSB since 1984.
