Schiphol calls for random security checks

Monday 22 January 2007

Schiphol Airport would like to replace the current strict security checks on passengers with random checks because of the nuisance and delays caused by the new rules.

In the new issue of LuchtvaartNieuws.nl, Chief Operations Officer Ad Rutten says it's impossible to explain to passengers why a pot of peanut butter isn't allowed on planes – yet it's okay to take a thousand peanut-butter sandwiches on board.
