Labour hope for ‘general pardon’ debate
The Labour party (PvdA) hopes to use Thursday’s inaugural meeting of the new parliament to debate a ‘general pardon’ for 26,000 long-term asylum seekers who still face deportation.
The old parliament was opposed to the move, but the new parliament has a narrow left-leaning majority.
