The Dutch employment market
Although hard to imagine in the current economic climate, particularly with the growing unemployment rate in the Netherlands, the shortage in the skilled and highly-educated workforces is expected to grow in the coming year(s). This is what the experts say abuot the subject:

The Dutch Ministry of Health reports: “As in previous editions, the Dutch Health Care Performance Report 2014 shows too little time and attention is paid to clients in the geriatric care sector. In 2013, over half of nursing home staff indicated there is not enough personnel to ensure a good quality of care.”

Twente Branding forecasts: “The Netherlands is a prosperous country. Despite the economic headwind, our levels of competitive strength, innovation and science put us in the top 5 on international rankings. Finding well-educated technicians on college and university levels will prove increasingly difficult in the near future. This development will harm companies’ growth and innovative strength. We expect a shortage of technical professionals of 30,000 by 2020.”

With this in mind, Expatica is again organising the International Job Fair, a one-stop shop for international job seekers, on 30 May 2015.

We’ve invited a range of exhibitors to offer you a helping hand

Exhibitors include experts from different types of institutions: international companies looking to recruit internationals, recruitment agencies, and organisations representing a whole region.

Visitors can chat with recruiters, get advice on writing a resume or application letter, learn about the Dutch job market, or just embrace the opportunity to mix with hundreds of like-minded internationals.

Get invaluable information about surviving abroad
The programme will include expert presentations on a variety of work-related topics, from ‘How to prepare for a job interview in the Netherlands’, to ‘How to apply with your CV’ and even ‘How to translate your expat experience into skills for your career’.

All of this in one day! Whether you have lived in the Netherlands for a few days, months or years, or are yet to move, make sure you keep Saturday 30 May free on your calendars for this opportunity.

The International Job Fair will take place at the easily accessible World Trade Center Amsterdam.
