The public prosecution department has launched an investigation into far right agitator group Vizier op Links (literally, sights on the left), social affairs minister Wouter Koolmees has told parliament.

Several formal complaints have been made against the group which recently launched a sticker campaign warning vocal critics of the far right that their homes were ‘under observation’.

The sticker campaign, Koolmees said, is both ‘intimidating’ and ‘overstepping the mark’. Leiden University historian Nadia Bouras and GroenLinks campaigner Huub Bellemakers are among the people who have been confronted with a sticker on their front door.

Vizier op Links was also mentioned in the most recent report by the Dutch counter terrorism unit NCTV, which has warned about the risk presented by far right groups in the Netherlands.

The platform’s Twitter account has been suspended indefinitely for breaking the social media platform’s rules.
