Schiphol cleaners continue with strike

Cleaners at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport continued their strike over job security and travel costs on Tuesday.

The all-out strike by 350 of the airport’s 1,000 cleaning staff began on Monday. The FNV trade union is demanding better conditions for the cleaners, arguing they have become the victims of the price war between cleaning contractors.
Talks between unions and employers are set to continue today.
The employers have twice gone to court in a bid to have the strike ruled illegal.
