Marijuana blooms in The Hague

A total of 362 illegal marijuana plantations with a total of 106,500 plants were discovered by police and other officials in The Hague last year.

The raids led to 80 investigations for social security fraud, resulting in the pay-back of €154,000.
The city council says the plantations form a danger to others because of the smell and risk of water damage. They are also often a fire risk and many plantations are run on stolen energy.
