Cancer charity remains most popular

The income of Dutch charities rose almost 6% last year to €541m, according to a survey by the Volkskrant published on Thursday.

The cancer charity KWF Kankerbestrijding is by far the biggest charity in the country with an income in 2006 of €68.7m, the paper said.
The survey also indicates that more money is being left to good causes in wills and that this now accounts for 24% of charities’ income.
