Congolese family first beneficiary of amnesty

A Congolese family who have been in the Netherlands fighting for refugee status since 1993 have become the first to benefit for the amnesty for long-term asylum seekers.


Junior justice minister Nebahat Albayrak handed over their residency permits on Wednesday morning. Up to 30,000 people are expected to qualify for the amnesty.
