The trading floor, which focuses on oil, electricity, coal and emission rights, will be merged with Nuon’s other operation in Hamburg. Some Amsterdam staff may be transferred to Germany, the company said in a statement.

The aim of the closure, which will be completed by early 2018, is to cut costs, Nuon said. Nuon was bought by Swedish state energy company Vattenfall in 2009.
