Emma and Liam are most popular Dutch kids names, but what about little Eh?

beschuit met muisjesGoodluck, Dikshit, Lovelace, Genius, Narbys-Lenay and Rooney are among the names given to babies born in the Netherlands last year.

In the religious sphere, there were several Amens and Islams, a Jood and a Godmother, while one little girl will go through life named Eh. Another has the moniker You.

The names are collated every year by the social insurance bank which pays out child benefits.

Emma and Liam

The most popular name for a girl last year was Emma, followed by Julia, Sophie, Anna and Mila. For the boys, Liam topped the list for the first time, with Sem, Lucas, Luuk and Noah completing the top 5.

In total, 168,000 children were born in the Netherlands last year, of whom 82,000 were boys.
