Police in Noord-Holland are making a last ditch effort to trace the owners of a camera found in the seaside resort of Zandvoort in 2008, possibly after being dumped by thieves.

Despite efforts to find the owners at the time, no one has come forward and the police now hope an appeal on social media will do the trick.

They believe the family in the pictures is French and made up of a mother, father and  children with the names Eliot and Juillet.

Some of the photos and videos cover a family holiday on Bali and Lombok. There are also pictures of their stay in Zandvoort, the Keukenhof tulip fields and a bike tour around Haarlem.

The camera has been in storage at Zandvoort police station since it was handed in.
